What do you like to pack in your kiddos school lunches?  What are some of your favorites and what are theirs?

This is one of the things I just dread about my kids heading back to school.  I have the HARDEST time coming up with ideas for their lunch boxes.  No one enjoys sandwiches so I've given up on packing those.  Cheese, crackers and rolled lunch meat is a favorite.  My middle guy loves spaghetti, mac and cheese, and leftover soups in his thermos.  Really I just end up packing a little of this and a little of that, trying my hardest to hit all the food groups.  I'd love some new ideas!

I have a 12 year old and he's very picky. Always a green apple. Granny Smith. He's got a new quirk with his sandwiches now. He is complaining, yep already, that they are getting soggy and soft. I'm so afraid he'll toss a good sandwich container. Does anyone have a suggestion?

What great timing! I just found the solution to preventing soggy sandwhich bread (thanks to Pinterest!). The key is to create some kind of barrier between the bread and any fixings. We've tried doing this a couple different ways: lightly buttering the bread or putting a thin slice of deli meat FIRST, (on top of the bread) and then spreading the condiments onto the meat instead of the bread.

Good luck!

In an old cookbook it says to keep wet vegiable and sauces in seperate containers and the person can add them when  it is time to eat.
