Serving anything good?

We're grilling pork chops and having roasted baby red potatoes, corn, and applesauce.  I might throw in some rice or mac-n-cheese too.

Check out the pics I posted of Luke's first kite flying experience and you will see how close to Spring we are..... NOT!  Ugly brown, dried up, dreary trees and grass with NO sign of green at all!

Koegel Viennas are hot dogs.  But, they aren't just plain ordinary hot dogs.  Koegel's also makes regular hot dogs but most everyone, at least around here, get the Vienna's. These are the "other" hotdogs... Skinless Frankfurters...

Koegel Vienna's have a natural casing and are twisted between each one like a sausage is.  They have a little curve to them too and when you are grilling them, the casing gets all nice & crispy and sometimes bursts which makes them taste even better!  In my opinion anyway...

Here's a pic of the big box you can buy and a closer up pic of the pkg of 8.  We have to cut them to get them apart.

This is the size pkg we normally buy.  I grill all of them and freeze what we don't eat.  It's great to pull one out of the freezer when I have a hankerin!

They also offer a "chicken" variety... which is actually pretty good (and cheaper!).

Because of their curviness, the big advertising thing for the Vienna's is "Serve the Curve."

Koegel's Meat plant is right here in my town, next to the airport.  They offer ALL KINDS of different products... of course I love the Viennas but I also love their Pickled Bologna and Red Hots...

I am going to have to bring some of this stuff... especially the Red Hots... for y'all to try in Ohio.  But, then again... I have found that when I rave about something local and then someone else tries it, they really don't see the appeal... LOL.

The locals who move away from the area ALWAYS have to have certain things whenever they come back to visit (Halo Burger, Coney Island which is made with the Koegel Viennas, YaYa's, Fish & Chips, Frankenmuth Chicken, Latina's Pizza, Canton Chinese and a few others that I cannot think of right now).

Not to discount the gutter conversation, but you need to mow your grass??  Man, we're a long way from that!!  I love the first grass mowing of the year.  That and the Spring rain...ahhh, love those smells.

Unfortunately no grass to mow here either... and I'm with Susan, I LOVE THAT SMELL!!!  My favorite!

Now... i will admit that when I typed up that the Viennas were curved I added that i was sure someone was going to take that comment "somewhere!"  But, I went back and deleted it before I posted... LOL  I guess I should have left it....

SERVE THE CURVE!!!!!
I love you gals!!!

I took this picture Monday night as I was grilling.   I wasn't looking at the grass really, but the greening bushes.   The small patch of grass seen here is in a bad, spotty/weedy part of my yard.  But yeah, I need to mow.   The neighbors on either side of me already have.   I did get the garden plot weeded last night.   I need to churn up the soil, add some topsoil and get the plants in this weekend.

Wow Tracy....what a difference 8 hours makes!  Eight hours of travel that is.... (I think that's how far apart we are anyway). I look at this miniature tree out my window every day to see if any buds are appearing...nuttin'!

It has been raining 2 days straight now.... which I love... not only because I love rainy days in the first place, but I know it greens up the grass!  And after I took this picture I did notice that the grass does look to be a tiny bit greener....

It looks like there are Christmas lights on the tree near the bottom ... but those are rain drops .... and the "bud looking" things have been there all winter... I am hoping they will burst forth into beautiful, lushious, green leaves real soon!!  Have I ever told y'all green is my very favorite color?  This is one big reason why.... I love the green grass & trees!
