Renee texted me her QOTD to post today.

What was the best Christmas gift, or biggest surprise gift, you ever received?

DH surprised me with an engagement ring one Christmas. That was a pretty great surprise! Emma was four months old and we had decided long before she was born that marriage was "just a piece of paper" that we didn't need. We made our lifelong commitment before I was pregnant, but after she was born, it started to seem important to be married. DH had been married before and swore from the day that I met him that he would never go there again, so i was pretty shocked to open a ring! He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and I screamed and jumped around and then we called our families who said, "it's about time!"

I really don't know. I've never gotten any "great" gifts. I never get what I ask for, so everything I get is a suprise. I do know this year that Scott and the boys have gotten me (supposedly) a new Coach purse and a pair of cowboy boots. Nice presents, but first, I know about them, second, they would be better coming from someone besides him! LOL I know that's mean, but hey. . .

Mine was also an engagement ring. December 25, 1979 in the Kmart parking lot going from my grandmothers house to my future mother-in-laws house!

Tracy, when me & hubby were first married, we were dirt poor. But, we saved enough money to buy an Atari because we figured it was going to be our entertainment over the cold winter. We played endless games trying to beat each other... lol.

We got an atari one year and we loved it!! With six kids and a dad who wanted to play in the house, it was an exercise in turn taking though. My caves were frogger, mousetrap, and donkey kong. I got a high score on mousetrap one day. All my siblings were there cheering me on and when I got the final score screen up, it said to take a photo and send it in. We had no camera with film in it. We all avoided turning the atari off all day hoping we could somehow take a photo to send it in, but no luck. It was a sad moment when we turned that off and my fifteen minutes of fame were gone!
