So today is Valentine's Day  and I know for some it is no big deal BUT it is in our house!  What's everyone making tonight for diner?

I made reservations and we are going out to one of our favorite restaurants -

Max's Oyster Bar -

John ended up not taking the girls out. He had a crappy day at work along with a rattling cough. I bought some roast beef and bbq pork and we made sandwiches with chips. He said he would take us all out this weekend.

Tastykakes are being sold here now too for the first time since the Hostess collapse.   I have never had one.   They always remind me of the Janet Evanovich books.  Her heroine eats them.   Maybe I should try them.

I had the last piece of lasagna, a big bowl of salad, iced tea, and a Tastykake butterscotch krimpet. Since Hosess Twinkies went under, Tastykake has begun marketing here.  I grew up with those.  As with most things, they aren't as yummy as I remember them.

I have no wine.  I have four imported beers, at least 6 months old, and I don't like beer anyway. I have hidden the half bag of M&M Pretzels, the package of truffles left from Christmas.  That leaves me with some Werthers Originals, half a bag of peppermint puffs and some stale jelly beans left from last Easter.

Forty days and forty nights....

So what'd you eat, Gaye? I'll join you for beer and caramel. I prefer both of those anyway.

Looks like a nice place Sandy!

V Day is not a big deal in our house.... DH asked me a few days ago if I wanted flowers.... I said No.... I would rather chocolate, but we have enough in the house already lol. Might get some tomorrow if its marked down!

I made spaghetti, with caesar salad, and some garlic bread! was soooo good!

Who wants parent-teacher conferences on Valentine's Day?

My Valentine has been gone 11 years.  He would have wanted steak, rice pilaf and asparagus with something gooey and chocolatey for desssert.

For me, ho hum.  It is the first day of Lent.  As always, I gave up wine and chocolate.  Does that mean I can have a beer and caramels?  LOL

It is time to decide.  Do I make the shrimp and asparagus bow tie pasta thing, or do I eat the last piece of leftover lasagna and make a side salad?
