Plans?

My friend/DH's cousin is coming over for supper.  Yesterday was her birthday.

Beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, sweet corn, applesauce, and salad - CARB OVERLOAD!  lol

I'm not into sweet flavored butter either. In fact, the rolls @ Logan's are sweet too...I like just plain rolls. If I want sweet rolls, I will get a donut.

Looks good, Susan.  I still need to try that.  But I always cook my roasts with gravy so when I have leftovers I have leftover gravy too.  But I could add the gravy too I reckon.

Whenver you say beef and noodles I invision something like this:

Only without mushrooms because, well, yuck.

That does look good, Susan... thx for the visual. I have always pictured beef & noodles like Tracy posted too. I put a roast in the crockpot this morning and I am thinking maybe I will cook up some noodles to go with it... my hubby turned up his nose when I told him we were going to have beef roast, potatoes & carrots... that bugger! LOL

What part of that didn't he like, Daisy?  Sounds good to me.

I think of that as more of a stroganoff. I also steer away from the stroganoff because of the sour cream (we never have any in the house). How do you make yours?

We used to have something like that at my Aunt's when I was a kid and completely forgot about it until I saw that photo. Yummy!!

How do I make stroganoff?  I usually don't.  Although I do like it.

My roasts are usually cooked in a Dutch oven with gravy.   I brown the roast in oil and garlic salt.  I then mix together a can of beef broth, can of Cream of Celery soup (hate mushrooms so no mushroom soup), and some flour.   I usually add hot water to that too.  Then I simmer the roast in that gravy mix, covered, in the Dutch oven on the stove.  It cooks for about 2 hours.  When it's done the gravy is thick.   Great winter comfort food.

I am going to have to try that. I love thick gravy. I usually throw my roast in the crockpot with a packet of dry onion soup mix. I use the leftovers from that for my beef and noodles.

question. I tagged Tracy's post with "beef and noodles". If I search that it should come up, right? Will the entire post come up?
