Weekend Plans?
Fri, 08-03-2012 - 7:27am

It's Friday!!  What's going on this weekend?

DS is off to a baseball tournament in Tennessee, leaving this morning.  I want to go so bad I can't stand it.  It's the same park, same hotel, etc. we went to last summer.  I had a great time.  But DD plays this weekend too and I can't ditch her for him.  So he and his dad are leaving in a few hours.

I'll take DD to softball practice tonight.   After that a lot of the girls may go home together and spend the night at one girl's house.  Not sure on that yet.  I know Jeff is coming over to my house after practice.  He doesn't have to go to bed early for work anymore.

Tomorrow I am of course headed to the softball field.  All day.  But the last game scheduled for the day is 4:00.  So, 8:00- 6:00 sounds merciful to me.  And, it's a one day tournament.  Yay!!  I have a day off.

Saturday night DD and I will laze around the house and watch TV.

Sunday she and I are tackling her room.  A huge deep clean.  Clothes out of drawers, everything out of the closet, books off the shelves, etc.  And we are purging.  A lot.  She is dreading it.  I cannot wait.

DS won't get home until about 10:00 if the make it to the semi-finals and lose, later if they make it into the championship game.  We lost in the semi's at the tournament last year.  This year's team is better, but anything can happen.

You still have a full schedule even with baseball winding down Tracy!

Tonight right after work I plan on hitting the "Y" for a much needed work out.  Then dinner at home.  I think swordfish on the grill if the big storms do not come rolling through.

Saturday morning I'll take my Dad out and do a few things with him.  Once I drop him off back home I have a few errands to run I can't do with him (he moves way too slow).  At around 6:30 pm we have someone coming to the house for us to interview as a pet sitter for Webster while we are gone on vacation.  Web is almost 15 and we do not want to put him in a kennel and my inlaws just are not up to taking him for the whole time we will be gone.  It's been tough deciding what to do.  Not sure when dinner will be.

Sunday I'll hit the "Y" again and then home to start pulling out clothes to pack for out trip.  We leave a week from this Sunday.

Tonight is cleaning - DH will probably have to work late.

Tomorrow I'm hitting the Farmer's Market.  I ordered a half a bushel of green beans.  Tomorrow will be cooking and freezing green beans.  In the evening we're going to my BIL's house for dinner.

Sunday is nothing.  We need to get school shopping in at some point.

Have to say Tracy, that I'm missing baseball.  Our season ended 2 weeks ago and I'm in withdrawal:smileywink:  Good luck to your kids.

Tonight, Potluck and celebration of the 6 week educational enrichment thing my kids did.  Max has finished his 3rd and final year on the Leadership Academy so I expect tears.

Saturday morning, their annual Kids Running For Kids Who Can't triathlon.  They have raised over $1,000 this year for kids/families with cancer.  It's an emotional morning.

The rest of the weekend is fly by the seat of our pants.  Maybe we'll do a drive in??  Summer vacation is done for me, Monday I go back to 40 hours a week:smileysad:

Yes, time does fly way too fast!

Friday morning, we (Ash, Sheryl & I) flew to Tx to visit with my sister & her family. We stopped by Chick-fil-a on the way home from the airport. We Hung out a while then went swimming and sunning. My sister made spaghetti for supper...yummy! This morning we got up and started getting ready for Erica & Zack's engagement party. It went really well except that Zack's father is like a dictator and he started in on Zack about not getting married next year, throwing the fact that he paid for Zack's college and if Zack doesn't do what he wants him to do (not get married and just live together with Erica) that he's going to make Zack pay him back for everything he's paid for tuition. Isn't that the craziness thing? Anyway, Zack told him if he was Hoo.g to be that way just don't bother coming to the party, so he didn't. I felt bad for Zack but he handled ot very well.

Tomorrow morning we leave for Austin....can't wait!

Wow, Daisy, that is bizarre.  And rude.  Glad Z handled it well.  If dad is saying that in public, I can only imagine what he is getting at home.

We were at the ball park from 8:30 until 7:30 yesterday.  But, my girl's team woke up and they won two of three games.  It was a one day tournament so they got second place.  They have never walked away with hardware before.

The other catcher was having back spasms, so my girl caught all but 1.5 innings all day.  The other girl got pulled after catching one and a half.  I love watching my girl play.

Then there is my boy, playing in TN this weekend.  They apparently crushed the two teams they played yesterday in pool play and were told that even though they are a 9 and 10 year old team, they have to move up an age group and play their elimination rounds in the 11-Under bracket.  What is that???   One of my friends had that on her FB status.  She ranted that we beat the home park team by a huge margin and they wanted us out so the hometown team could win.  Not cool at all, but not much you can do.

Missy, his team took advantage of your tax free weekend.  They were done playing by 1:00 yesterday so most of the team went into Pigeon Forge, home of 3 huge outlet malls.  The ex took DS, but they went go-cart racing instead of shopping.  Ex said the moms were all talking about how great the tax free thing was.

Now I am going to the store.  I am old Mother Hubbard.  And I can FINALLY do my Q and E homework.
