Weekend Plans?

What's going on this weekend?

My weekend is crazy.  Again.

Today I have an old friend coming to town.  I haven't seen her in 18 years.  We were super tight growing up, we swam together.   She resurfaced on FB last year.  We have talked a ton since then.  The last we spoke, we had an apartment together.   She disappeared every time the rent was due, and stayed gone until the payment window was over.  I was forced to hunt down her dad month after month to get her share of the money.  My dad always fronted her and her dad payed my dad back.  Since we grew up swimming together our families knew each other well.  Then she disappeared, taking several pieces of my furniture with her.  We have cried together over the phone many times lately.  I got a string of texts from her earlier in the week telling me how sorry she was for all the "*$?*" she put a lot of us through 20 years ago.  She said she needed to run away and grown up; which she did.  She is ready to mend all her fences and will be forever grateful for those of us that forgave her.  I am going to cry a flood when I see her.

But with my knack for bad timing, of course both kids have practice tonight and then as soon as DD's is over, we are on the road headed for our tournament hotel.  I am going to meet my friend and another of our friends for dinner.  My mom will take DD to practice.

Then we are off to Louisville to play softball.  Her tournament is an all day, one day, deal.  We will be at the park from 6:45 AM- about 9:00 that night.  So DD and I went out last night and got drinks and snacks.  We're all packed up and ready to go.

Sunday DS plays baseball out of town (and Saturday but I will miss that).  I will get to see him play then.

Cleaning house, laundry, grocery run?  Who knows when that will happen.

Big time triple birthday party tomorrow evening at my place for Christine and her two daughters.  Birthdays 7/2, 7/16 and 8/12.  Haven't seen Christine's tribe since I left her house after her surgery.  Also going to meet Amy's significant other for the first time.  Freaking out slightly about cleaning house and making dinner for nine.  My dinner table seats six comfortably.

Menu is spaghetti and spinach meatballs (of course), salad, garlic bread and ice cream cake.

We had  a small family gathering here, just the 5 of us, it was really nice. Grilling sausage, trying a really hot mustard, chat and chill.  Little E had such a good time and was all smiles and giggles and loved playing with Uncle P and  honor Auntie A,  she managed even to laughs twice, she hasn't really gotten hang of it yet, so it doesn't always work.

Tomorrow if weather permits, Little E and I am going to go with  Honor gran and granddad and pick bilberries or we will spend the afternoon going through the toy museum and then I be  making gooseberry jam for E.

Not sure who Little E is but I'm sure they will really enjoy the gooseberry jam!

Well it is more like gooseberry pure and it is for Little E, she is starting solids soon

Who she is, well her father and mother pride and joy,  she is utterly perfect and sweet.  She hardly cries and was born with a smile and that has stayed, she has such a  happy, calm  and curious personality.

Yes, she is my and J:s daughter.

Hi Hanna!

We hit up the farmer's market this morning and got some fresh green beans, sweet corn, and eggplant. Then we went to the grocery. Tomorrow is church and I'm going to try a new crockpot spaghetti sauce recipe. DH has to work.

Wow, Hanna.... Congratulations! She does sound like a sweetie pie!

Me & Ashleigh picked a ton of blackberries from our bushes earlier...we had to stop, the mosquitoes were eating us up. We'll get the rest tomorrow.

That is one cute baby there, Hanna.  It's good to see you.  Your weekend sounds fun.  I love a good hot mustard.

Daisy, I dream of the day my blackberry bushes (2 doing okay, one almost dead and one dead) produce like yours do.  I love blackberries and I am human mosquito repellent.  I'd be picking all day.

I'm home from softball and off to a day of baseball.  Wow is my house neglected gross.
