Weekend Plans?
Fri, 10-26-2012 - 7:01am

Okay, I am proceeding on as normal and hope someone responds.   I am iVillage lonely.

What's going on this weekend?

I have little going on and I'm happy about it.   Tonight DD is going to some Tech fair thing with a friend.  I love that she is in touch with her inner-nerd.   I have already made supper.   I made some homemade spahgetti sauce.   It's in the Crock Pot now.   It's not a CP recipe, but I think it'll be fine.   DS and I will eat while she's teching it up.   Her admission gets her 2 pieces of pizza and a Coke.   She'll be hungry when she gets home, so I'll feed her leftovers.   And then we'll start haunted show night.   The kids want to watch a marathon of Ghost Adventures, Paranmormal State, etc. all weekend.   So tonight's plan is to stay up late and watch those off the DVR.

Tomorrow all we have going on is birthday shop for DD's friend.   Then she is off to that friend's house for a slumber party last night.   DS and I may see The Dark Knight Rises at the dollar theater.   HE wants to see The Dark Knight first though, so who knows which one we'll end up with.   He's lobbying to have a friend over, but he went home from school and had supper with a friend 3 nights this week.   I think he needs to come home for a while.

Sunday DD has another birthday party to go to.   And I finally have a yard full of leaves.  I guess I'll start working on fall yard clean up.   This is one of the few times I miss having a husband.   I could use more help than my son will give me.

Sunday night we have a softball meeting.

I am going to keep trying the quote thing until it works! It is pretty irritating to sort through all the html when you only want part of the post in the quote!

Not a lot planned for this weekend - this has been a LONG week, and I am looking forward to sleeping in. Erick has to work Saturday, and I have a baby shower to attend. Sunday church and Sunday evening rehearsal.

Had our Fall concert last night- it went really well, and the only kids missing were the ones I was actually happy about - I was really sweating the audience behavior factor. I have got one girl in my 6th grade choir who makes it impossible to teach. Constant interruptions and "look at me" attention getting antics. I finally gave her a discipline assignment and sent her to another classroom to work for a period. The whole class (even her friends) commented on how much we got done that day. She has a combative mom who believes her daughter can do no evil and always tells her the absolute truth. It is kids (and parents) like this who make me re-think my career - daily (at least lately!). She didn't come to the concert, hallelujah!

Tonight is nothing.

Tomorrow is grocery and cleaning.  Brooks has a Halloween party tomorrow evening. Our girls and boys cross country teams run tomorrow about a 1/2 hour away in Districts.  We might go watch before our grocery shopping.

Sunday Natalie, my 2 nephews, and my brother are running the Boo Run 5K.  My SIL and I are walking.  DH and Brooks will cheer us on at the finish line!  You're encouraged to wear costumes, so I'll see what I can come up with.  No way can she run in her Christmas tree outfit.

I'm reading and posting in Chrome!  ~~happy dance~~

We have the River Arts Festival tomorrow.  The first autumn weather popped in at midnight last night with a 30 degree drop in temps and a rainstorm.  If the weather clears, I will go to the festival.  Otherwise garden clean-up.  And Tracy, I don't miss having a husband AT ALL!

Well, I had to just now log in three times.   The first two I was "not authorized to make comments."   But I kept logging in and here I am.   I'll check Chrome in a minute.   It was not working earlier today for me.

Karen, I miss having someone to take out the trash.   I hope DS grows soon.   He's so short there is no way he could lift the bag into the bin.

I reluctantly agreed to join a small-group spiritual renewal class (not quite a Bible study) in a neighboring town.  I don't like to drive at night (see double) and have to go through some pretty iffy neighborhoods.  Totally out of my comfort zone.  Meets every other Friday at 7 PM.  This is our second meeting.  Prayers appreciated, more for my safety than my spiritual renewal, I think.

Getting up at 6:30 tomorrow to do the shelter's offsite PetSmart adoption event.

Church Sunday.  Then I need to go grocery shopping for whatever meal I decide to take Amy and the boys next week.

I am thinking that RA is probably tall enough to take out the trash, Tracy...... :-)

That she is, Cara.   And she has done it.   I may be crazy, but I am trying to teach Daniel that some things you do to be a gentleman.   He opens doors (for me, not her, we can't get that far yet).  Taking out the trash is something he should do for his wife.   Or his mom.   That job I am saving for him.   She vacuums every week and mops a lot.   They both take turns scrubbing the bathroom, they both wash dishes, and put up their clean clothes.

Oh, I had no doubt they both do their share, I just HATE taking out the garbage, and I would totally make her do it until he is tall enough! Wink You are a nicer mom than I!

Tristan probably does more than his share, just because Riley isn't big enough yet.... which I know he resents, but I did more than my share as a kid - pretty much because I was the girl - so I don't feel too bad. I got over it, and I am betting he will, too. Recently he has gotten marginally better about doing things with out being told. Not much, but occasionally, so that is progress.... take what I can get.

I watched the kids last night so Amber could do some running around buying and preparing things for her trip to Philadelphia.  She borrowed my car to do it and then my hubby took her home after she got done.  I went to bed around 9:45 last night.  Woo hoo... talk about exciting lives... lol.  I woke up at 5:00 am this morning... got the dishes done and put a pork roast in the crockpot.

Went at noon to get my hair colored & cut and then came home and Amber called to ask me to watch Pres while she went to Kohl's so I did.  She is dressing up the kids in their costumes and taking a picture with Nick's sisters kids... her daughter who is 4 years old is dressing up as the Princess Peach and her son who is 4 months older than Luke is going to be Luigi so she asked Amber if Luke could be Mario so Amber bought him a Mario outfit.  Then Amber had an awesome idea.... she found a mushroom head costume for Presley and she's going to dress her as Toad.

So, the 4 of them will look like this.... lol...

After they take the picture of the 4 of them, Amber will bring Luke & Presley back here while they watch their Blue Ray of the week.

Tomorrow is church and then football ....I need to get groceries for the week and I need to do some laundry too... I'm down to my emergency underpants!
