Weekend Plans?

We made it to Friday!   YAY!  What’s going on this weekend?

Tonight I have to work.  I haven’t seen much of my kids this week because of work.   Stupid overtime.   I have a 3 hour break between getting off my regular shift and going back in.   I’m getting ready to go start a Crock Pot of tortilla soup so I can eat with the kids before I have to go back in.   I know I make that all the time, but the kids and I love it.

Once I get off work I will get DD from my parent’s house.   She’s going over there to help my mom get ready for our family Open House on Sunday.   DS is staying with his dad so they can go deer hunting early tomorrow morning.  DD and I will stay up late and catch up on our trash TV:  Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition, Toddlers and Tiaras, and then non-trash of the new Big Bang Theory.

Tomorrow DD and I have to go to the softball field house and pick up fruit.   We sold fresh citrus fruit as a fund raiser.   I have 8 orders to pick up and deliver.   After we do that it’s off to the grocery, then home to cook.   It’s Christmas cooking day.   We have 3 types of cookies to make, along with a cheesecake.

DD wants to make a Red Velvet Swirl cheesecake for our family party.   I’ll make my regular NY style cheesecake recipe, pulling out some batter to mix cocoa powder in it.   Then we’ll dye it red and swirl it into the rest of the batter and bake.

I also have to make a load of queso dip and cut up veggies for a veggie tray.  Then after all that cooking, I bet I cook something easy like tacos for supper.

Saturday night I am crashing on the couch with the kids and Christmas movies.   I think DD will have her buddy here.   I offered to keep her so my friend, her mom, can get her Christmas shopping done.

Sunday we will go to church and then to my parent’s house for our family Open House.   That’s just a food-fest.   My dad makes chili.  My mom will have pound cake, rum cake, and cookies.   He’s the chef.   She’s the baker.  I do the queso dip and veggie tray.   Others bring stuff too.

When will I get my house clean and the laundry done?  I have no idea.  But it’ll be a fun weekend.  I love Christmas time.

Forgot to report on our weather...
more rain on Saturday & Sunday... ugh

I hope SO BAD that we get at least a little snow before Christmas... and that it doesn't melt away.  I know it sounds pitiful but it just doesn't seem like Christmas without SOME snow....

According to this graphic, we may get some Thursday of next week.... I sure hope so!  Yes, Tracy.... I will take all of your snow too!!!!  But only in the month of December.... after January begins, no snow please??  Is that really so much to ask??  LOL

Tonight we WERE supposed to go to Greenfield Village but it is sold out.  So, we will probably go to Tia Helita's Mexican restaurant (which is cheaper than Greenfield Village is so that is a good thing!) and then go somewhere and play games... most likely Ranae's house because she's the only one who offered.. lol.

Tomorrow morning is Family Breakfast and it was my turn to pick so I picked a local spot called Thompson Creek Turkey Farm.  They are known for fixing turkey all kinds of ways and they do serve other food besides turkey but it is the first time for Family Breakfast so I hope it's not a bust... if it is, everyone will blame me!  LOL

Tomorrow afternoon me and my hubby are sitting down and working out our finances so that the money we DO have does not get away from us.  We both need to do this so we can feel like a plan is in place and have a little peace of mind and enjoy the holidays.

I will probably do some house cleaning and laundry tomorrow too and after we figure out how much money we have, I will make a menu and get groceries for the week.  Tomorrow evening we will probably watch the grandbabies while Amber & Nick go BLUE RAY with his sister & her hubby.

Sunday is church and then I am not sure if we are doing football tomorrow or not but if not, if we have the money this week, I want to get a couple gifts knocked out of the way.

Sunday evening get myself all psyched up to pack up my office & storeroom(s) for our big move Friday of next week.

Sandy, I wonder if your big storm is the one we are on the lookout for this Tuesday.   The weather guy is already saying Tuesday night is the first real weather threat we have had this winter.   I hope it's exaggerated and we get nothing.

Tonight is my office Christmas party.

Saturday morning I will take my Dad out for our usual late breakfast/early lunch "date" and grocery shop run (he loves going to the grocery store) After I drop him off I'll drop off my groceries and then run out to pick up a few things - then I'll meet up with John and we will head out to finish up our Christmas shopping - dinner out someplace I am sure

Sunday they are calling for "messy weather" so I'll probably just go to the "Y" in the morning and then stay in for the rest of the day.  I'll wrap presents, toss in some laundry and find a good Christmas movie to watch and let the weather be messy outside.  Sunday  night will be dinner at home and getting myself ready for work on Monday.
