We made it to Friday! YAY! What’s going on this weekend?
Tonight I have to work. I haven’t seen much of my kids this week because of work. Stupid overtime. I have a 3 hour break between getting off my regular shift and going back in. I’m getting ready to go start a Crock Pot of tortilla soup so I can eat with the kids before I have to go back in. I know I make that all the time, but the kids and I love it.
Once I get off work I will get DD from my parent’s house. She’s going over there to help my mom get ready for our family Open House on Sunday. DS is staying with his dad so they can go deer hunting early tomorrow morning. DD and I will stay up late and catch up on our trash TV: Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition, Toddlers and Tiaras, and then non-trash of the new Big Bang Theory.
Tomorrow DD and I have to go to the softball field house and pick up fruit. We sold fresh citrus fruit as a fund raiser. I have 8 orders to pick up and deliver. After we do that it’s off to the grocery, then home to cook. It’s Christmas cooking day. We have 3 types of cookies to make, along with a cheesecake.
DD wants to make a Red Velvet Swirl cheesecake for our family party. I’ll make my regular NY style cheesecake recipe, pulling out some batter to mix cocoa powder in it. Then we’ll dye it red and swirl it into the rest of the batter and bake.
I also have to make a load of queso dip and cut up veggies for a veggie tray. Then after all that cooking, I bet I cook something easy like tacos for supper.
Saturday night I am crashing on the couch with the kids and Christmas movies. I think DD will have her buddy here. I offered to keep her so my friend, her mom, can get her Christmas shopping done.
Sunday we will go to church and then to my parent’s house for our family Open House. That’s just a food-fest. My dad makes chili. My mom will have pound cake, rum cake, and cookies. He’s the chef. She’s the baker. I do the queso dip and veggie tray. Others bring stuff too.
When will I get my house clean and the laundry done? I have no idea. But it’ll be a fun weekend. I love Christmas time.
