Are diabetic socks really all that much better in reducing foot issues than ordinary socks? Does anyone have any first hand experience?

I don't know about their ability to reduce diabetic foot issues but I do know they are very comfortable. I have been trying to establish a workout routine and lose weight and had been having some trouble with my feet. My mother bought me several pairs of diabetic socks to try and I have to say they really are comfortable. I don't know if it really is the socks that helped me or the idea that I am wearing special socks that helps.

I think one major point with them is they tend to fit looser at the top edge.  I did find that other kinds of socks would often leave a mark or be somewhat snug at the top which I think impedes circulation and for diabetics anything that lessens that can be  troublesome.  I do wear diabetic socks and do find them more comfortable.

I have never tried diabetic socks. I mostly wear plain white socks.. But I mostly wear New Balance shoes...

They actually are better for you because they are made without seams which can rub a sore on your feet. Because it takes a little more work to make diabetic socks, they are more expensive than regular socks. I have several pairs and they are more comfortable and they don't bind on the top as Nancy suggested.
