I have to laugh. ok, so I went thru all that work downloading bothof those programs the library instructions said had to be loaded on the device to download stuff too.
I found a book that I wanted for my iPad but didn't know how to down load it either. When I figured I had better get with it I no longer could find the book! I have a partial cookbook down loaded but that is all. I think I need to down load some books for my trip but then I haven't finished reading The Help and so I may just take that with me. I am amazed at how light the iPad is also.
Supposedly I can order books for my iPad through the local independent book store and Goole. I have absolutely no idea how to do this!!
Hi! You are soooo going to love having an ereader! I've got two! LOL Both of mine are nooks. I have the original nook (which is 3G & wifi) and the new nook tablet.
I know libraries are different (mind doesn't do ebook rentals at all) so I'm sure it can be confusing on configuring your computer to accept the rentals and then getting it on your kindle. :/
There are some sites online where you can get free books, such as Project Gutenburg. All are public domain so free to share. :) (You're not going to find the latest James Patterson or Dean Koontz on there, lol.) Here is another list of 300 classics you can download for free (some to the kindle directly): http://www.openculture.com/free_ebooks.
I highly recommend a sturdy cover and not a 'pouch' cover. Also grab the screen protector if you don't have it already. :)
They are truly a ton of fun and a lifesaver! When I was pregnanty last year and sitting at the doctors office, I had tons of books at my disposal! I've also never read so much as I have with the nook. I'm a big reader, but it's easier to read from the nook while snuggled in bed than it is to read a book and turn pages, etc.
She was talking about her library. My sister's library requires you to download to your computer first. ;) It depends on what you're downloading and from where.
Yep, when we went car shopping I wished I had mine with me!
