I am trying really hard not to get depressed which is something I have struggled with in the past. I had to cancel my plans this weekend because I have had such a bad flare up since Friday. All of my joints hurt, I bought new vitamins and even though I feel like I have more energy, my finger and toes, my hips lower back and shoulder blades... everything just hurts. I am tossing and turning at night waking up approximately every 45 minutes. I am trying to keep up beat but I am tried of feeling so bad, I know some days will be better than others but I am taking my meds and vitamins and doing yoga and everything I am suppose to do, and just want to feel better. Dos anybody have any suggestions for me to fight depression or sleeping techniques or do I just have to wait it out and hope my flare up clears up soon?

Hi, Kayleen, sorry you are in a flare and hurting so much. It is hard maintaining a positive attitude when you aren't well rested and you are hurting. You might try soaking in a warm bath at bedtime--helps to relax and can help with the pain. Deep breathing exercises and meditation may also help.

Along with FM, I also have Chronic Myofascial Pain--very common to have it along with fibro but very few doctors treat it or even know about it. Here is a website that you might find more answers: http://homepages.sover.net/~devstar/

I purchased two books "Fibromyalgia and Chronic Myofascial Pain A Survival Manual" by Devin Starlanyl and Mary Ellen Copeland and "The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook" by Clair Davies with Amber Davies from a bookstore rather than the internet. But there are others equally as good.

Don't know what meds you take, but I take a muscle relaxant, Tizanidine HCL-4mg (prescribed 1-twice a day but usually only take it at night),
