Wow, that is fantastic! I wish you the best of luck. Can you tell me how you got started? I'd love to try something crazy like this too but don't really know how to do it. I know it happens all the time that people with chronic health issues become runners but I don't know how they get the courage or motivation.

There's a bunch of free aps you can download that get you from running for 1 minute at a time until you can go for an half hour. We just started last week, and it's not too horrible. My niece actually told me about it because that's what she'd been using, along with her Girl Scout troupe, to get ready for a race they are running in for a badge. I just got tired of watching everyone else have fun, and figured if I can do intervals on my elliptical for 30 minutes, I could run, too. Plus, I read this article about a woman with MS who still ran and biked, and I figured, ah, heck, if she can still do marathons, there's no reason I can't run 3 miles! If you want to start running, just do it. The hardest part is getting over the fear of looking like an idiot, lol. The ice on the shins really makes a huge difference.
