Do you get the shot or take other precautions to prevent it?

If washing my hands constantly (and I mean elbow down, not just the fingers), eating a well balanced diet, using supplements when necessary, keeping my environment clean with organic cleaners, exercising, sleeping regularly, and keeping my stress levels low are precautions then sure.

Our best defense against illness and disease is a healthy well functioning immune system. We can strengthen our immune systems with exercise (as little as 15 minutes increases white blood cell production) proper nutrients, vitamins, supplements, proper diet, managing stress and getting plenty of restful sleep.I believe a flu shot is beneficial for people with underlying health conditions and for the senior citizen population.

I've never had a flu shot and I've only had 2 colds in the past 10 years. However.... now that I'm 50, I'm starting to give consideration to a shingles vaccine. Something I'll discuss with my doctor during my annual check up.
