So what do you use? Do you use a sugar substitute or do you use the real thing?

About 5 years or so ago when I was on the SBD, I used Splenda....since this....everytime I eat anything with Splenda I get sick to my stomach! I have decided after this and after discovering what sugar substitutes do to a person, to use only the real thing! I use only pure sugar and no substitutes. Now, my mother swears by Truvia. I'm scared to try it because of my bodies reaction to other substitutes.

What do you use?

A few years ago I cut out as much white sugar as possible. I also learned I have a mild allergic reaction to sweet and low and equal so I avoid those too. Now I use organic cane sugar or honey as sweeteners and not in excess.

I've tried splenda and not only do I dislike the aftertaste, but it leaves me feeling really bloated. Truvia is ok since it only has a slight aftertaste and no bloating, but I think I'll just try Stevia. All the experts are raving about it and its supposed to be a plant based sugar.

Truvia or Purvia are brand names of the sweetener Stevia.
