Do you get the flu shot every year? Does it work? How do you know?

I do not get my flu shot every year. I did get it one time through a work sponsored event, but I was SO sick that year (coincidence? who knows!). Since then, I have not had it again. Some years I get sick, but nothing terrible (knock on wood!).

Never gotten one, never had the flu other than a 24 hour bug when I was 6 months pregnant with my middle child, don't intend on starting to get them now.

Oh yes, I get a flu shot every year, and I am fairly certain that it works since I haven't had flu in many, many years.

We've been getting them every year for at least the past 20 years.  Seems to work just fine for us.

I got H1N1  in October, 2009.  It was right after I had been in a store with many  people.  That was the sickest I have ever been, and I think it was worse than some surgeries I've had.  I started getting flu shots after that.  I did get the flu again a couple years later about a  month after I had a flu shot, but because I had the shot, I was able to pull thru easier, recover quicker.

I have gotten the flu shot every year for at least the last 20 years.  I have not had the flu during all those years.  I do work with children and also have lots of contact with others so it just makes sense to me to get the shot.  I still think you also need to be diligent in doing the things that prevent you from getting sick so it's kind of a combination for me.
