Have you used a walk-in retail health clinic? Did you like it? Will you go back? According to Health Day News, they are fast growing in popularity due to the convenience and price of the health care offered. "The popularity of "walk-in" medical clinics located in pharmacies, superstores and workplaces nationwide is increasing rapidly, according to a newHarris Interactive/HealthDaypoll.

Twenty-seven percent of all adults surveyed said they have used either walk-in retail clinics (19 percent) or work-based clinics (11 percent) to obtain medical care in the past two years. That's up from just 7 percent in 2008." more

We'd love to hear about your walk-in health care clinic experience.

We have only used them for getting flu shots up to this point.  I guess I might consider them for other quick visits.

The walk-in clinic I have used is not a retail health clinic. It is a free-standing immediate care facility. I went last year when I was having issues with allergies and sinus problems and I was happy with the care I got there. I would see my own primary care doctor for any more serious issues, though.

If I had any chronic illness or many health problems I would not go there, because I would feel it was important to see my own doctor who would be familiar with my history.

I have and I will definitely go back. I was visiting relatives in another state and developed a sore throat. One of them suggested the Walgreens walk in clinic and I gave it a try. I didn't even know there was such a thing. I signed in, was seen by a doc, got my prescription and was on my way within a very short amount of time. I was able to pay for everything out of pocket and it didn't cost me a week's groceries.

My sister now uses one of those Urgent Care clinics for just about everything and the convenience and cost can't be beat. She can get seen by a doctor on a Sunday morning!!

I haven't yet, but I'm certainly not opposed to it. Sometimes it's extremely difficult to get an appointment with our regular doctor, especially during the flu season, so it's nice to have an alternative option available.
