Do you? According to this Health Day News article, "Gum disease affects nearly half of American adults aged 30 and older, a new study finds...For the new study, researchers analyzed data from a nationally representative study on more than 3,700 adults aged 30 and older and found that about 47 percent had periodontitis -- about 9 percent with mild gum disease, 30 percent with moderate disease and 8.5 percent with severe disease." more

Have you ever had gum disease? How did you find out? How was it treated?

I do have it, and I have been working diligently to get it under control, making sure to floss every single day, that makes a big difference, and you can add extra Vitamin C also which can help combat and correct it.

I have had the gum infection, gingivitis, and found out when I went to the dentist for a bad taste in my mouth. The dentist told me most likely it came from brushing too hard or using too hard a toothbrush. Mine cleared up with a prescription mouthwash.

I did; I suspected I had gingivitis when I noticed my gums bleeding a bit when brushing. I went in for a cleaning and amped up my oral hygiene routine, making sure to floss very thoroughly every day.
