How can I prevent a slipping rib?

I have two ribs that slip out from various activities (mostly lifting at work) and I am really, REALLY tired of it happening and I havent had any good answers to how to correct the problem or atleast help. Usually, I have to go to the chiropractor between 1 and 3 times just to keep them in place. It is quite painful and I would love, love, loooooveee to never have it happen again, or atleast not as many times per year. Sometimes it happens every two months, sometimes I get lucky and it happens every half a year but it seems to be following the 2 month time period more often. I have tried wearing a stretchy ace bandage wrap around my ribcage at work but its too itchy and warm to keep on. Please! Help!
