As you grocery shop, are you more likely to chose foods based on taste, ease of preparation,

I consider cost first, health second, and then taste/ease of preparation tie for third.

I try to take all three into consideration (buying fresh and organic is prime in my shopping and ease of prep --- simple and fast - really does come into it).

Good question — I really had to think about it! I'd have to say health benefits is No. 1, with the caveat that I won't eat anything that tastes yucky just because it's good for me. So for me, taste is a close second, lol.

Ease of preparation isn't usually a huge consideration, but it is right now because we are halfway through a kitchen remodel. (Here is where I would really like to use the old "frazzled" emoticon.

Hmmm, good question! Sometimes it depends on what I'm buying. For instance, if I'm in a bakery, taste is always my first consideration.

Most of the time, when I'm doing a grocery shop health comes first, then taste, and ease of preparation rarely comes into play because I like to cook, and don't mind spending time on food.

How interesting that you say you have to work a bit harder to make healthy taste good. I too struggle with the same thing for my family. Do you think it's because we are all just so used to tasty, spicy quick foods?

Organic isn't really an option around here. We try to stick to organic meats especially if it's available.

lol I wish I could say health comes first but I have to be honest and say ease of preparation gets top billing for me. I am one that does not care to cook. I cook dinner 2-3 days per week and hubby cooks 2-3 days per week. The other days we eat at my mothers or go out.. I know, I know, it's honestly just laziness with with me.

lol you sound like my kind of shopper. BTW, I love fresh cooked green beans especially with a little bacon grease in them... ;)
