hello all!! being a woman is a pain. first you have the whole monthly bleeding thing that makes an awful mess...your boobs get too big and they hurt...your hips get too big and you cant find clothes that fit...lol...anyway, im having a lil problem that ive never had before. my period decided not to come this month. im not pregnant-i went and had a blood test done at the doc's office on friday...he mentioned that i have the start of a yeast infection and that could be stopping the period. or my sister said it could be because my body is "reseting" itself. i also had a very stressful week last week-my basement flooded, my father in law is sick, and i had some drama at work. but ive dealt with all that before-and worse-and this never happened to me. ive skipped 3 periods my whole life-once when i was 14 and just "starting out" and then once when i was pregnant with each of my children. so i dont know...but this is frusterating. the funny thing is-i feel fine too. i was feeling bloated last week when it should have come but the bloat went away. i feel like its already come and gone...i have this feeling its gonna kill me when it comes this month....what do you all think? is it the yeat infection? stress? or did someone push the reset button?

Hi Joanne. Ugg, It's stressful to have your period and then stressful when it doesn't come. We can't win sometimes can we? Hopefully it's just a fluke and everything will return to normal really soon for you.

Did you get everything settled at work?

Oh no-what timing! Ugg. My sister has been having trouble with her period but she's 47 years old and her doc says it's definitely age related.

Oh yikes on the work thing. Did your boss know she couldn't push seniority? Did they just not want to deal with her complaining?

Hi Joanne. I'm sorry I missed your original message, and I'd like to offer a belated welcome to the Women's Health board.

Stress is the biggie for me with regard to causing a delay in my cycle. It has happened to me a few times over the past three and a half years, usually the month following the stressful event(s). In my case, my body really likes its schedule, apparently, because each time I've had a delay then my period comes two or three days early for a few cycles until I'm right back on the original schedule.

I'm glad to hear it's not as bad as you feared it would be when it finally arrived.
