Thank you for your response. I did not get any information about the nodule only that I had one and it was small...could not be felt when the doctor exam my neck. I am really anxious and waiting for the 3 weeks for the uptake and then another week for the results is driving me crazy. Even though I have been on synthroid for over 30 years this is the first time that I had a scan on my thyroid so maybe the nodule has been there a long time. Should I be concern that the dr did not indicate either way about the nodule? Thanks again for your concern....it helps.
The doctor wanted to do the uptake to see if the nodule is hot or cold and then I have a appointment with the specialists on November 7. Maybe the ultrasound was not conclusive.
Hi dandr76437,
Nodules are fairly common in the thyroid.
I just remember that the doctor wanted to do the uptake to see if the nodule is hot or cold.
It is true that the scans and ultrasounds can't always be conclusive so you have to go over it all with the doctor and see what they recommend.
