NEW BOARD FORMAT
11
Sun, 11-04-2012 - 3:47pm

I initially had these comments in a different thread however I think it might be best to start a new discussion...!

I'm not sure if others are having these same issues or not but in order to find out and to see if I'm missing something, I'd like to hear what others think.

I really don't want to sound like a 'whiner' but these are my thoughts as I manuver around here.

The changes here have taken away the comfort level I once had with using this board. It seems as though it's gotten a bit cumbersome.

I miss the message counter and being able to quickly see if, and who, may have posted recently.

Also it used to be we could 'hide' the signature blocks and never see them in any thread we opened. The signature blocks add a lot of extra paging down when reading through threads. (For me anyway..) It seems I have to remember select the option each time I open a thread or if I reply, I need to select it again each time I post.

When opening a thread there doesn't seem to be any consistancy with going to the most recent post. Sometimes it does - other times I have page down to get to it!

These are just a few of the things I miss but all in all I'm really not complaining. I'm doing okay with the new format.

Again, maybe it's only me.....? I'm just trying to see if there might be something I'm missing.....!

You are not alone Marty.  I am hoping these are still bugs that they are working out.

Thanks Chris! It's good to know I'm not the only one who feels things aren't quite right just yet.

Ya know... there is another thing I picked up on yesterday that I failed to mention and that's when you edit a post it pushes the original to the top! In most instances that wouldn't be a problem however I noticed in the "Word Association" thread that Ruben had missed a post I had made. I decided to edit my post to note that it had been overlooked - not that it was a problem just to reiterate how viewing posts can sometimes be confusing - anyway, when I reposted my edit it showed as being the most recent which made it appear as if I had missed Rubens post!  I hope that makes sense and this isn't one of those "You had to be there." moments....! Again, it wasn't a huge deal but I wanted to note it anyway.

You did what now Marty???  LOL!  Yeah, I got confused.  But then again I just got back from voting and it was on a computer instead of paper ballet.  UGH!  Let's just say twitchy fingers (as Ruben says) was not a good thing to have this morning!

WTG on voting people! I'm headed out to vote in a bit myself. Marty, I hope they iron out these glitches everyone is experiencing.

Hi Marty,

Unfortunately the big storm got in the way of tech updates to the boards. The iVillage offices are located in NYC and they had to deal with power outages and everything else for many days. Members of the staff are still dealing with the aftermath so everything is still not back to normal.

I'm really sorry for the inconvenience to everyone but there really isn't anything at all we can do right now. Hopefully we will start seeing some of the bugs fixed and updates made really soon now.

I'll let you all know as soon as I hear any kind of information towards these things you all have mentioned.

Thanks for the information Karla! Now I feel kinda bad about even bringing this stuff up. I didn't realize the location of the iVillage offices was in New York. Any concerns or problems we may be experiencing are pretty trivial when compared to the daily concerns/problems they are experiencing! I honestly apologize for for even bringing this stuff up at this time!

We can surely be patient with these or any issues we may have. Just hope evreryone at iVillage is fairing well in spite of the circumstances!

(I really do miss 'spell check' though!)

Hi Marty,

Aww, don't feel bad. Not that a hurricane can ever hit at a good time, but Sandy happened to hit at a terrible time for iVillage. Once everyone is able to get back to work I'm sure we will start seeing some things change. :-)

Thank you for your well wishes, I'll pass them along.

Wow!  I did not realize that either!  I hope everyone there is safe.  No worries on the changes.  There are more important issues to deal with there right now.  Like food and shelter......

Praying for all those affected by the storm. I hadn't even thought about Sandy and the proximity to the HQ for iV. ((HUGS)))
