Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I posted

It's me Amanda.I haven't been here in awhile and it's long overdue. It's hard to find extra time to visit.I hope everyone is doing good.First I will tell you the good stuff.Marriage is wonderful and it's been almost 3 years now.My parents are doing fine.Ariel is 7 now but still bounces around like she's a puppy.I took an extra day off from work today cuz I'm going to a concert with my aunt for her birthday later this evening.I sometimes have to work until 7 so I took off to make sure I could go. Well this is the not so good news.I still have 21 to 29 day cycles. My doctor did some blood ovulation tests about three months ago and it shows I ovulate. She did give me a prescription for Clomid. She said that it would stop the irregular cycles. My husband had to work the next month so I didn't start taking it.Then my cycle has been weird for the past two months. I will admit that I'm bad about not charting and keeping up with things. My doctor also doesn't seem to think it's that important to chart.I have had a few people tell me that you are supposed to take Provera with Clomid to regulate your cycles. My doctor sees no point in this cuz I have a period at least every 20 days. They did not give me very many details about my blood ovulation test results except to say everything was in the normal range. None of this is making sense to me and when I read about my symptoms. It sounds like a possibility of peri menopause or something more serious.I don't know what to do.I've been seeing my doctor for ten years now.I don't like the idea of changing. However it takes 6 to 10 weeks to get an appointment to see her.I don't like any of the other doctors in the group but her. I have a male nurse practitioner that I see for just colds and minor stuff. He said all this is beyond his scope of practice. However he would be more than happy to run some blood tests about my hormones so I can get a second opinion in that aspect. It's just hard to find the time and money to do this.I'm on my husband's insurance and they pick apart lab work bills to make sure it's necessary. I didn't realize I posted so much but I had to come here and pour my heart out to those I knew who truly understand. Thanks for listening. Hugs, Amanda

Hi Amanda and welcome back. That's great that marriage has been so good for you but I am sorry to hear about your health issues. I personally say stick with the health care provider you are comfortable with. Have you tried getting yourself on the cancellation list at her office? Often they can get you much quicker if you're willing to come with just a day or two notice.

OMG!  I know I replied to you about a week ago!  I remember reading.  I am so sorry.  I don't know what happened.  I am so happy to see you!  I know about how difficult it can be to get here, as you can see from my late post!  I am so happy to hear that you marriage is going great AND that Ariel is doing great too!  Sorry you are having these issues.  Yeah, you know, I do recommend charting.  Especially if you are not being monitored with u/s's while on the Clomid.  It is fine, though, that you don't take the Provera.  That is only needed if you are not getting a cycle.

I hear your frustration and I would be frustrated to.  Honestly, it sounds like the best thing that you can do is get a new doc.  Is there any way to can get a referral to a endocrinoligist?  You need proper monitoring if you are going to be on Clomid.  What about diet.  How are you eating.  Many of us have cycles and even ovulate, but if we aren't eating right (treating the PCOS) then we have issues of egg quality.   Even changing your diet a bit in the right direction can really help.

You come here any time and talk as much as you want.  From now on I am going to make sure that my posts, post, before I leave.  Take care, Laura
