I have actually had my thyroid checked and it is fine. Sometimes I wish they could actually pin point something a little more specific so I know where to start! My mother was diagnosed with PCOS and told she could not have children also *TAA DAA!!* My sister and I are proof it is possible but I think my diagnoses it a little more severe because my periods never actually started. I am at a loss. Thank you for the food advice. Would the diet be the same as a diabetic one?

Happy to help. The tricky thing with the thyroid is that not only are often the wrong tests given, but the test really don't show anything until it is bad. Most doc who really know about thyroid, rely more on symptoms. Haveing said that, it really could just be the PCOS. What actually goes wrong is different for each of us. I know women who have had regular periods all their life and can't get pg. Many of us get pg, especailly now. When your mom was young, they really didn't know a lot about it. Women were often told that they couldn't get pg. Thankfully, they know so much more now.

As far as diet, I would not recommend a diabetic one. They generally have way too many carbs/sugar. I like Atkins, it will help you figure out what amount of carbs is right for your body. Just be sure to get the book and read the whole thing. Most do not follow the plan correctly. Another I hear about a lot is The Glycemic Diet. Many are able to follow it pretty well. My problem with it is that they rely on the glycemic index. The problem with the index is that it only centers of sucrose and says it is ok to eat things with frucose, which is not true. This is a process. Pretty much any low carb plan without soy is OK for a start. Keeping a journal will help you figure out what is right for you. Eventually, once your body starts working right, your body will tell you what is good and what is not. Hang in there. You are on the right path. Let me know when I can help. Come here to ask questions, share successes and vent if you need to.

A last question. Have you been to a endocrinolgist who specializes in PCOS?

Just because of the timing and your history, yeah I think it was the acupunture. :) I am sorry about the brusing though, I hadn't heard of that happening before. Did you talk to the acupunturist about it. There may be something going on that would make you bruise so easily. Let me know if you find something out.

Sorry about the crazy period. This is perfectly normal since you do not normally get them. There is probably a lot of lining that needs to be shed. Give your doc a call it is continues. Hopefully it will be over soon!~ +++++++thoughts and keep me updated! Laura
