I am 14 weeks pregnant and have PCOS. I am really worried it may affect the baby. Does anyone here have experience?

hello, I'm not really sure. It's only 500mg once a day. She said it would hel me metabolize carbs better. She has retired since then. It's definitely something I plan on discussing with my new doctor.

Hi there!  Congrats on your children.  Yeah, once you have PCOS you have it.  However, you can treat it and then it is like you don't have it.  :)  Curious, why a low dose?  Take care, Laura

hi, I'm 39 right now.I had my children at 26 and 34. There was a period of secondary infertility in between ,which led to my diagnosis. I still have it unfortunately, it came back. The main symptom for me is weight. I tend to gain a lot when I'm pregnant, the second time I could'nt lose the baby weight. I do take a small dose of metformin which helps somewhat.

Hi there and welcome!  Glad you have joines us and CONGRATS!  The absolute best thing you can do is eat right for PCOS.  One of the biggest risks for us is gestational diabeties.  Eating right will help keep that away.  Low carb/Paleo is the way to go.  It will also help treat your PCOS as well.  Most of us have normal pregnancies and some of us even get a break from the PCOS.  How are you doing?  How is it going so far.  Take care, Laura

That is great to know! Thank you so much for replying. Can I ask you how old you are and how you are doing with it now and what affect it has had on your life?

Hi, I'm a lurker here, I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was trying to conceive # 2. I have had 2 successful pregnancies with PCOS and it never had any effect on the baby. If anything it took a few months after giving birth for the PCOS to come back.
