I'm 42 and didn't expect to be joining this 'club' so early... but... here I am!
This is my first place to go for advice b/c 4 years ago I practically lived on ivillage's expecting mom's boards!!

I can only speak from personal experience here as I am certainly no medical expert....
I had a total hysterectomy about 30 years ago - both ovaries, uterus and cervix (and appendix!!) were removed.

Sorry for not being back here sooner...
Surgery was Feb 7 - all went incredibly well... laprascopic surgery that took only the uterus... they had me on my feet later that night and home the next morning.
Worst part was the strep throat I lived with for a week b/c someone scratched my throat during intibation... and of course those antibiotics meant

Those trapped air bubbles after a laproscopic surgery are the pits!
