I guess my first question to you would be if you want to try to have any more children....if not, and if your doctor thinks this is a good option for you then I can see no reason to not have the uterus removed as long as he is "taking things out".
If the other ovary is left (and IF it continues to function) you should not have any menopausal symptoms to deal with from this surgery.

I'm sorry you ended up having to have chemo too, but prayerful that this will now have gotten you back on the road to a full recovery.
