Do any of you find that your hot flashes come and go? I seem to have mine for weeks at a time, somtimes really bad with night sweats waking me 6-7 times a night. Then I will go weeks without a single hot flash. That is why I am reluctant to take anything for them because they tend to go away. Right now I'm taking evening primrose oil and I'm not sure if they went away as a result of the oil or it's just that I'm having a non-hot flash period.

Hello, Yes, same thing used to happen to me.  Just when you think they are over, they come back.  I used to keep turning my pillow over it was always cooler on the other side.  Bit of relief for a few minutes.

I do believe that is the way of the hot flash!  I have never known anyone who would have said that they had them "all the time".  Often a hot flash will be triggered by stress, but not always.  You might want to visit the 'Hot Flash' page at our Menopause Oasis to read up them and what we (collectively!) have found to help! I do know one woman who used Remifemin (black cohosh) and swore by it!

Please know that you are welcome here anytime; to vent (it really can help!); to ask questions; to share experiences; or to just hang out with other gals who understand and care.

Remember, there are NO dumb questions regarding menopause!
