I am 64 years old and have prolapsed uterus and bladder. Told cause is thinning of tissue due to menopause. Had same condition 40 years ago following child-birth. Had surgery at that time to "put back and tack" organs. Saw gyno this week and he basically said surgery to remove uterus was the way to go. Seeing uro gyno as soon as I can get appointment. Anyone have experience in this area? I mention pessary to doctor but said I was concerned about using hormones. He told me that everyone gets cancer if they live long enough. Not thrilled with this doctors bedside manner. Hope uro gyno is a bit more understand.
I am glad you went to a dr that you trust. That is a 'good thing'.
If you want suggestions about what to do to prepare before your surgery, and after, we can help with that. You will find suggestions, and info in the next folder down as well. I think Kt also has info at the Menopause Oasis.
If we don't hear from you again before your surgery, please post and let us know you are ok as soon as you can after. We will be wondering and worrying about you!! Good luck!
Lots of hints on both the 'before' and 'after' at our Menopause Oasis. Follow this link to go directly to the exact page! We'll be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers so please do let us know how you are doing.
