I am 51 and typically my periods are very light with just a couple of heavy days lasting only about 4 days  I missed mine in November but got it Dec 19 and have been having it ever since some days heavier than others. My question is if this is normal for menopause?

Yes, irregular bleeding is very normal, sometimes light, sometimes, horriby heavy.  At some point, it goes away, thankfully!

Irregular bleeding is often one of the first "symptoms" associated with peri-menopause, Dejaha. If you are one of the lucky ones, it may be the only symptom. For lots more information about this time of life that you are entering, please feel welcome to visit our Menopause Oasis.  I have tried to provide some good insight about this 'condition' there and a bit of humor too. To find it easily, just follow this link.

Hi

I have been looking for another post similar to my symptoms but with no success. I am my normal happy self with lots of energy and a positive outlook until I ovulate. From this time until I take my period my life is hell. I withdraw from my family, feel like my skin is on fire, get about three hours of unbroken sleep at night and am constantly waiting to hear bad news..... of course the list of my horrible symptoms does not stop there but these are the worst oh maybe I should have put the urinary incontinence on this list as it has caused me numerous embarressing situations in public and work. Anyway I trotted off to my GP and she put me on Ellest Duet 2mg This worked for about two months but suddenly stopped. I am back to living in hell for two weeks of the month. can anyone give me advise on what I need to get me back on track.

Please go back to see your doctor again!  It sounds as if the dose you were given simply is no longer effective.  Or it could be that your doctor will need to find another product for you. That very often happens when we are first given something to help combat the "symptoms" that come along with peri-menopause. Don't give up on finding the help you need.

Something that I have found that works great for me in combating the mood swings is taking a daily dose of Vitamin B Complex 50 daily.  The B vitamins really do help naturally regulate mood swings. I also use Inositol (vitamin B 8) in addition to my daily dose of Vitamin B to help combat daily stress. The B vitamins are 'water soluble' and are flushed from your system easily.
