I haven't posted here in a long time but today I feel the need for a little morale boost.  Last night I started feeling anxious and couldn't sleep.  I finally fell asleep around 2:00 a.m.  I haven't had a panic attck, a REAL panic attack in a few years so this caught me by surprise.  I was on meds for maybe 4-5 years and this spring my Dr. and I discussed going off totally.  Over the past year I was easing off the meds a little each month till i was down to maybe one pill a week, well, half a pill.  I do have a theory though why now I'm feeling anxious.

My PAs started maybe 5-6 years ago before my birthday, maybe 45th?  Anyway, my birthday is next month, 9/30.  It's almost like my body's clock knows it's getting another year older and those chemical imbalances (thanks menopause) are going at it again.  My PAs started at the beginning of menopause so it's pretty much all physical/chemical with me.

It's so frustrating!  I decided to go back on my meds, half a pill to start like I started originally, not watch the TV news or go online to find news and watch lighter TV shows like sitcoms, cooking and some other silly reality shows.

Has anyone ever had a good run of no attacks only to have them come back again?   Any new advice for me?

Bennie

Always good to see a familiar face from the past.   Sorry you are having to deal with your panic attacks again. I have never had a full-blown one, only some minor stuff.  When I do face one I take some Inositol (vitamin B 8) and it seems to help.

Hope you and your doctor can figure out the best course for you to take in dealing with these nasty little "friends"! Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

Please know that you are welcome here anytime; to vent (it really can help!); to ask questions; to share experiences; or to just hang out with other gals who understand and care.

Remember, there are NO dumb questions regarding menopause!

I guess for now just breathe - in and out, in and out. Thanks for the welcome back. Yes, with all of our devices and web sites to check it can get overwhelming. I like to be 'in the know' but maybe for a few days until I see if last night was a one-time thing or if it continues I need to go lite on the news and current eents. So let's sart our 24/7 'good' news channel. ;)

Hi Bennie and welcome back. I am sorry to hear your panic attacks have come back. I don't have any advice but I do want to comment that I think it good you aren't going to watch the news as much. I had to stop watching cable news as much because I found it was really dragging me down. Someone needs to start a 24 hour news source for "good" news. :-)
