Did you have adequate coverage for everything you needed before the new health care law went into effect? Has anything changed with your new plan? Will it make a difference in your life?

As we all know, health care is very costly; a prolonged illness or serious injury can easily bankrupt a family without insurance. Health insurance offers better health plans for you and your family's health needs.

That is interesting. I have a relative who gets medicaid and those kind of savings questions are part of the application. As far as we can tell you have to have almost no resources in order to qualify for health care without having to pay premiums. I would love to know how this all plays out for you.

Good luck!

I am 59 years old female and have had no  health insurance for over 5 years.. I go to a nearby clinic for healthcare ..

Anyway; I applied for some health insurance at the marketplace and because My income is low they say I can get state aid but I have a good amount of savings though but two marketplace counselors and someone who works at dept. of health  said that doesnt matter but then why did the social worker send me an application where there was a space that asked the question? Do you live on anything else besides income like savings or get money from a friend to help and I stupidly said I get money from a friend because I listened to someone who said put that... I really thought I wouldnt be eligible at that point and didnt think about it...they didnt ask me for bank statements but just how else did I obtain money...

I do live off a small income and savings and i have no job and I struggle but I know no one cares .... So thinking of not bothering now because I know the State could come and take your money or deduct what they give you.. Most of the insurances are high deductibles and things so not going for those... I have no idea what do to at this point..although a few sources say the only thing that counts is income but I cant get a straight answer from anyone anywhere.

I have to decide asap or it lapses..

thanks
