I use chewing gum all the time to relieve acid reflux and it works well. I also love ginger for a queasy tummy. I make tea from the candied ginger rather than eating it, but it is still very effective.

I agree - I actually make a tea out of fresh ground ginger and fresh ground tumeric and honey to have instead of coffee when my colitis flares up.
