Do storms seem bigger than they used to?

I saw on the news a while ago that 1 in 5 Americans could be affected by the storms they are predicting over the next two days. I don't ever remember these kind of storms in the past. Have we always had them but maybe they weren't as news worthy as they are now or are storms getting stronger?

It sure does seem like they are getting bigger and stronger to me.  And much more destructive too (obviously).  Scary!  One has to think that there is some kind of climate change going on that is causing these crazy weather patterns.  I hope everyone stays safe over the next few days!

I agree. I think they get a boost in viewing when storms are looming so they use them to get more traffic.

Yes they are growing and will continue to do so for a few years yet. I interviewed a guy from United Nations about this. I couldn't understand how global warming could make colder winters and heavier blizzards. Here's the interview. I found it very useful.
