Are you ready for Christmas or are you stressing out about the preparations that still need to be made?

Have you completed your shopping?

We still have a few things to buy. I of course just got Don's wish list the other day.

He could be easy but if he'd just loosen up a bit.

He keeps the checkbook (my choice as I got tired of bills and balancing the thing when I was single) and he keeps a very close eye on it.

That's how my ex and I did things during holidays as well, since he didn't want me to know what he'd bought (though often, it was because he didn't want me to know he'd bought himself something rather than for me, lol).

Your DH sounds a lot like me with the going online daily to check & balance the account. ROFL

We both had some financial problems in our past before we even met.

A lot of people only have a cell. Since I'm a Chicago transplant to Alabama and Don's from Missouri we have unlimited long distance on our home phone so we have both land and wireless and the wireless is only for emergencies or if one of us is out and needs to call home or vice versa.

My stepdad is the same way with his phone, but he does use it to call his parents & siblings on the weekends (free unlimited long distance on weekends), but otherwise, it's usually turned off.

I like the idea of a gift for the house to share... but, not one that you won't both use or benefit from.
