Do you lie (even little white lies)? You may feel better if you stop. According to Health Day News, "For good health, be sure to eat fruits and vegetables, exercise regularly and lie as seldom as possible.

A Notre Dame researcher is hoping this tongue-in-cheek advice will someday take hold, based on results of a "science of honesty" study she completed that showed tangible mental and physical health benefits among those who significantly reduced their everyday lies." read more

How long can you go without telling even a tiny lie (the kind most of us tell to avoid hurting someone's feelings)?

I'm sure I lie occasionally, I would be wary of anyone who says they don't. I do try to limit it to little white lies, and try not to respond at all if I can't say something nice. Sometimes politeness is more important than being honest. For example, if my MIL calls and wants to know if it's an imposition if she stops for a quick visit, I'm not going to be honest about it. Even though I might have a list of things to get done for the day, my stress load is not as important as making her feel welcome in our home.

I'm with Abby on this too. Sometimes a white lie is beneficial. I'd hate to be honest about something that would only hurt their feelings, only to have it turn into a fight or upset. I can imagine that would just increase my stress! However, I really try to be honest most of the time. I think I probably fib most to my kiddos about little things (tooth fairy, Santa, Easter Bunny anyone?)! LOL!
