What kind of dog do you have? According to Health Day News "The breed of dog a person chooses may mirror his or her own personality and outlook, a new study suggests." MORE

So how did you pick your breed dog and do you think there is truth to this study?

I saw a television bit on this and wasn't sure I totally agreed.

Since I don't have a dog, does that say something about me?

What I don't like about the survey is that they break out the groups strangely. We have a border collie mix, and she's considered more of a working breed versus a pastoral breed like the article suggests so I'm totally confused! A breed you would consider pastoral (being on a farm or rural) are usually working breeds.

I do think it's common sense that you pick out a dog breed that suits your personality, so in that case their findings are in line with that. You don't want to have a dog that requires a lot of exercise if you are a couch potato, and vice versa.

I don't have a dog either. Maybe that means we don't have personalities? LOL

I'm actually a cat person. Wonder what that implies about my personality...

My husband wanted all English Bulldogs so that's what we have. To be honest, they fit HIS personality perfectly. They are very mellow and laid back and that's exactly what he's like. I don't know that I'd call him overly conscientious as the article says though. ;)

Me too so I googled (of course!).

Back in 2009, there was this article:
