Hello and welcome!

I know that food is as addicting as any other substance or activity. Keeping a food diary helps, as does awareness of what are your triggers. The most important thing is to find face to face assistance from some of the resources Brenda suggested. Do you want to let us get to know you better? You could post here often and tell us how you are doing?

Hi Sarah....thank you for posting.  I, personally, dont have any answers to your problem, but I am sure that help is available.  Have you talked with a councelor, doctor, Overeaters Anonymous, or a few other places to find guidance to where you might get the most help.  I know that emotions can and do rule a lot of our actions and gaining control of our emotions is a hard thing to do....especially when we are in stressful times.  Search Ivillage for a few other places that you might get some suggestions too....like pages of information, other boards to deal with overeating or emotional reactions to situations.  If you are not gaining any help here, please feel free to come back here.....we do search for solutions to addictions here, but maybe some of the tools we use can help you as well.  But, please, do not make this your main place for finding a solution.  I am positive there are other places that can get you closer to your solution.  We are so happy to see any and all folks searching for a way to a better life....so welcome...and God bless.....keep searching....and hopefully, we might be of some assistance to you.
