I am sure that happens more often than we hear about. Mistakes do happen and unfortunately a child is the victim. I know of friends that had parties and their toddlers took sips from alcoholic beverages before anyone realized what had happened. Those were the days when that was "normal" behavior for my drinking buddies to be so lax around their children. I need to include myself in the old crowd too - thank God for sobriety today!

...I haven't read the aritcle...I did hear (on a very surface level) about it...I wonder, was the margarita served in a child's cup, with a lid (the whole plastic get up that Applebees and a thousand other boring (my opinion) restaurants serve drinks to children in???...because, I usually pay attention to what the server is sitting down in front of us and if she/he sat a margarita down in front of my toddler, it would have to be hidden in a toddlers cup to get by me...unless I'd had a few margaritas myself...wonder how long until a law suit is filed...pain, suffering, fear of eating out and all that...

...oh, just read the article...I was being flip about the toddler cup...I am having a real hard time believing that a bar tender put a margarita in a toddler's sippy cup...does she mean the cup that applebees provides or a real "sippy" cup that she brought from home???...anyway...

It was served in a lidded child's cup, I don't think it was a sippy cup from home either. :( What's worse is that it's not the first time this has happened at Applebees, according to the article.
