My dad, my father-in-law, two aunts, an uncle all in hospitals, and a principal's list honor student with asthma attack, allergic reaction to inhaler, and ocular migraine all in the past week. Add to that a stupid BIL who called my husband yesterday (knowing about my dad's heart attack) and left a message saying "I know you are probably at the hospital, but would you do me a favor?"

Here is the deal:

My FIL, uncle, and one aunt are home from their respective hospitals. The other aunt is in the process of slowly dying- how slowly is yet to be determined. My daughter has to stop laughing so hard her asthma kicks up, so she doesn't have to use her inhaler.

My dad is 86 years old. He had his first heart attack at age 55. At that time, over 1/3 rd of his heart stopped functioning,

(((Beth))) I'm sorry that things are so rough in your life and the lives of your loved ones right now. I know it's not easy to deal with all of this, especially when you and Knight are the ones to primarily be there for those who need you (you are both such good people, I strive to be like you).

As for your daughter, I do the same thing. Only weeding, snow shoveling and laughing typically make my asthma flare. So I really feel for her (and you, as her mom).

Sunday night the nurse had to give Dad ativan after he became violently adamant that he was leaving. Yesterday he was unable to stay awake. The entire day. His heart was stable enough to move him to special care, and the hospital had a 'sitter' in his doorway in case he woke up confused.

Thanks Beth, it has been the worst time of my life.

treasure every moment you have with your loved ones, which I know you have lost family members to illness, but a fatal auto accident, no warning, just the phone call from the trauma center after he had passed. take care of yourself, love, Josie
