I lit up
Thu, 02-14-2013 - 11:36am

I need to tell someone, anyone what I've done. I had a rough day at work yesterday and lit up. I had gone 6 days without smoking and I smoked all evening and again today. I think my mistake was keeping a pack of cigs just in case. I'm starting over again when this pack is finished and I am not going to keep any around. Wish me luck.

Hi Phyliss....you said your answer.  Now is the time to quit again.  I had to make sure there were no cigs, ashtrays, lighters, or any smoking paraphenalia....that way, if I found myself wanting to smoke, I would have to A. get dressed  B.  miss the rest of my tv show  C.  have to go out in the (cold)(heat)  D.  Give Myself Time To Rethink My Addiction.  I found that, for me, the few times I felt I just had to have a cig....in order to get one, I had time to ponder what I was doing, and by the time I got to the store, or even to the car a few times, I just said nope, went back and had an icecream instead.  I can lose weight, but I can not grow new lungs.  Just clear out ALL things related to your smoking and start over.....and remember...You CAN do it.  If I can do it, anyone can....but nobody said the first few days or even weeks, would be easy...just that it would be worth it.  Let us know how you are doing thru this.  God bless....
