Quit Smoking and Frustrated

I am reaching out because I am beyond frustrated. I quit over two weeks ago and have been bloated, constipated and gaining weight by the day. I have losr over 100 pounds on WW and kept it off for over 10 years. I have not increased my eating nor eating to substitute for the lack of nictotine so I can not understand the weight gain. I took a laxative last week to relieve the constipation and yet my weight did not budge. I exercise 5 times a day for thirty minutes so not sure what the deal is. Is this fake weight or what. Any suggestions would help!

Nicotine and nicotine withdrawal can do some weird things to people. Exercising and not changing the way you eat are all good. It could just take some time to readjust to normal.

Hi Pooks....While I am sorry you are experiencing those side effects, I am glad to hear you took your health seriously enough to quit.  I know that some folks have harder side effects than others.  I did not have the weight problem, but I had the feeling of not being involved in my life.  It was like I was outside of me looking at me not smoking...you know?  It took about 4 months to feel inside and comfortable in my body again.  Give yourself some time.  Talk to a doctor about the weigh and constipation.  There may be a physical reason and a solution to it.  I do know, from my own struggle with weight (I lost 70 lbs.) that I would hit times that seemed like no matter what I did, I would gain.  Dont give up.....keep posting and know that we are all walking this struggle with you.....God bless...
