Stress smoking?

My quit smoking plans are going a little better than I expected but I still find that I have reached for a cigarette when completely stressed. Over the course of the last month I've probably smoked about 6 cigs and while I am not happy with myself over it, I know I could have done way worse. I just need to find an alternative when I get to the end of my rope. Do you have any suggestions?

What about something like mindful meditation? I know it is supposed to help with pain but maybe it will work for stress too.

Wow..stress...I would light one after the other.  Today, I walk. I read.  I just remember that "This too shall pass".  I just dont know when.  One step forward.  Do the right thing.  YUK...I hated those platitudes when they were given to me...but today, I use them.  Go get a good massage....meditate....play some good loud music and dance your energy off.  Stress can affect all areas of our life..and we are going to get stress.  It comes down to how we are comfortable handling it.  Wish I could be more help...
