Anyone ever felt this way?

Someone I was in a relationship with for three years recently passed away. Although we were very muc in love with each other, he was not addressing serious issues he needed to in his life which created more drama and dysfunciton than is normal in an intimate relationship. Long story short, I had to remove myself from the relationship, but I never stopped loving him. He moved on, I have been involved as well.

Since he has passed, however, I feel his presence as much now as when I was with him. Has anyone ever experienced this?  I realize some of this is likely brought on by renewed grief and reflection over the loss a relationship I would have liked to have worked out. Thanks for reading.

I have times when I can really sense my husband here with me....not always, but sometimes.  It was very strong the first week after he died.

HI.   You didn't say but if the dysfunction was alcoholism or drug addiction, the several years I went to Alanon to heal from my dad's drinking, I heard similar stories.

Part of you may have thought he would get healthier and maybe you would end up together again and now that he has died, that dream will never be reallized.

My husband died Nov 2010, and I have had very few dreams he is in, and sometimes I feel his presence easier than others.  Or I hear a small airplane outside as he had a small plane when we first met.

Also as a Christian, I truly believe he will be waiting for me at heaven's gate.

Sorry for your loss, loss is never easy.                 Josie
