I havent gotten rid of anything. His half of the closet is still there, his clothes hanging. I still sleep in his tshirts like when he was alive. I did take one of his favorite shirts that has sentimental value to me, and sewed it into a pillowcase so I can sleep with it every night.

I still have all his dvds, video game systems, and collectibles because I dont want to let them go yet, and wouldnt know who to give them to. I still have his body wash and deodorant in the bathroom, and loofa in the shower. I just havent been able to toss it out yet.

I even still have his ashes. I havent been able to let those go yet. I did put a few in the ocean, at our spot. I want to spread him around our house that he loved, but im not ready to let him go yet.

Karri,

I think it is lovely that you sleep with his shirt and have his body wash and stuff around.

Hey Josie,

I say if it is comforting to you then leave stuff as it is until you are ready to change it.

I still have most of his things. Right after he died my sister came to help clean and tossed most of his things, and then in January she came again and threw out more. We went through the office and spare rooms and tossed the things that held no value or that I knew no one would want. I still have all his clothes (minus underwear and socks I threw away). I have his jewelry box still on top of the dresser, and still wear some of his clothes. His robe still hangs on the back of the bathroom door. His cologne still under the sink. I kept a ton of stuff just in case the boys ever want it, but for now its all still here. I think his WW2 figurine collection (including tanks, blown up buildings, soldiers, etc) I will eventually pass to our grandson, my nephew, and little man. But not for awhile, and only if they want. I know my nephew would LOVE to have it all now! LOL I did give him one tank, and my stepsons have some things. :-) In due time we get rid of what we are able to. Even if its just one thing!
