How does hearing about other peoples bereavements affect you ? Does hearing about tragic events like 9/11 affect you more deeply since your own bereavement ?

~hugs~

I think it would be very helpful.

Recently I met another woman who lost a friend like I did, it has been healing for both of us.

Same here. I feel less alone, less isolated. I cry though for every loss. I realize just how unique and precious every life is and what pain and sadness the loss of those lives visits on people and I cry for them as well as for my own loss.

For me having people like even face book acquaintances facing a death triggers me and I get sad.

The one lady that I hadn't seen in years, her husband is close to dying, so that brought it all back to me recently.  Not that I ever forget hubby is gone, just sometimes it is a stinging painful memory, and other times the love and good memories are more prominent.

I went to calling hrs for someone's daughter that was only 30 some a few weeks after I was widowed, that one was hard.  And the one I mentioned up above, I will probably go to those calling hrs when they happen.  Never easy but other's supporting me helped me so I need to do the same.
