Hello, I have a yearly tradition that helped me. I lost my father17 yrs ago and the first year of his death a college lab partner invited me with him to his yearly get together with friends. They meet at a local bar/restaurant and have a night of drinks and memories. We all go around the table and tell a story about the loved one that is gone. I always drink Amstel, my dads favorite beer. It is a way that his memory and stories live on. Each year more people are added and some do not come back, but it is always nice for someone to say to me retell that story about your dad you know the one.......You don't have to drink, you can meet at someone's home. This night is so special and I look forward to it every year. I moved to a different state but I always try to travel back to share that night with old friends and laugh and cry and remember. It has been one of the most therapeutic things I have done in my life. Just thought I would share. Thanks K
