Holidays can be really hard on the bereaved, it can also be hard on their families.

I think the best thing to do is offer a place for the bereaved to go with plans (and invite early and remind them every week or so leading up since memory isn't that good, and invites too close to make you feel like an afterthought).

This is so personal for ALL of us I think.

I like being ALONE although with my ds living with me I never really am. (at least at home)...

My beloved Mom died at Christmas twenty years ago.

I still miss her and wish she was here to share it with her six grand-kids...three grand-daughters and three grand-sons...

She absolutely LOVED Christmas...(me to)..her favourite thing was her BIG shopping trip in November just before Christmas.

Up to Toronto on the bus for a girls day out with her friends to shop til they dropped and always a leisurely lunch.

I think she looked forward to this all year.

She would come home laden with parcels.

My dad just let her do her thing...many Christmases he worked but she had the meal planned around his schedule.

My lovely, beautiful daughter is the best Christmas gift you could ever receive.

When my kids were young I loved all that goes with that.

Usually my ex would get them the day after Christmas or that night and I got some much-needed time to reflect.

As the years go by I wish with ALL my heart she was here but she sadly she isn't.

The best gift I could ever give her was to "Celebrate" the day and cherish the memories.

It's not about the gifts you give or receive but about sharing the LOVE, AND HOPE, AND JOY,

I doubt I will even decorate the house for Christmas this year.
