Remembering my dad today.  He passed away 8/7/2011 in an air ambulance over WY. At the time he passed I felt like a giant fist was squeezing my heart, and then it subsided.  I knew at that point he had left us for a better place.  He was tired of the fight and ready to let go, but it's never easy for the ones left here.  Miss you Dad!

The first of everything, birthdays, wedding anniversaries, loss dates, special events always are so hard to bear but we do come through it. We may feel battered and bruised, but we come through. And we will all be here to support you as much as we can.

What I did for my husband's one year is made plans with a retired widow friend to get out of town, this was Nov 16th so went puppy Christmas shopping for toys etc and lunch out and then had down time later in day to cry or whatever I needed to do. Stepkids came up over weekend and we met at grave and then went out to dinner. I am sure you will find a special way to remember your husband, maybe involve your daughter in the planning. hugs, Josie

I am sending *hugs* and prayers. I am kind of scared of the one year anniversary of my husbands death.

(((((HUGS))))). Those anniversaries really hurt even though we know our loved ones are free of pain.
